It all began in 2013 at Florida State University. Kind of a big year there. Jon and Lexi were sophomores and set up as blind dates for Sigma Chi's "Boogie Nights" themed date function. They dressed the part, hit it off and danced all night long.

After graduating in 2015, they both found themselves swept up in the chaotic whirlwind that is New York City. The city pulled them in different directions, urging them to discover its wonders and challenges on their own. Which is a much nicer way of saying they broke up. But timing is everything, and four years later they serendipitously collided once again at Sauce Pizzeria in the Lower East Side. They instantly felt a spark. Jon, ever the smooth operator, mustered up the courage to ask Lexi out, and the rest is history. They spent the day at The Met, then went bar hopping around the city, catching up over dinner and drinks. Lexi knew that was the last "first date" she'd ever go on.

Their rekindling two months before a global pandemic was, again, perfect timing. They left New York City and moved in together in Arlington, VA. Because who needs the dazzling lights of Broadway when you can have the gentle glow of street lamps in Arlington, right? In October 2021, they brought home Maverick and their little family of three was complete. Plenty of date nights, dog parks, adventures, vacations, road trips, walks and wine nights at home followed.

On August 4, 2023 Jon took Lexi to their favorite place, Old Town Alexandria, for what she thought was a routine date night. As they walked down a secluded alley, Jon dropped to one knee. Before he could unleash the torrent of heartfelt words he'd rehearsed a hundred times over, Lexi cut him off with a resounding YES!!!

So here they are, ready to take on the world together, armed with love, laughter, and a healthy dose of pizza-induced destiny. They can't wait to get married and celebrate with their closest family and friends. November can't come soon enough!
